the hermès bag that doesn't exist yet (but should)
Hermès - I have questions. The bag of the century and they aren't even selling these!
Let me tell you about my Mother’s Day treat to myself — and why it accidentally turned into a very strong opinion about one of the world’s most iconic luxury houses. And to be clear, this is not sponsored by any means, I paid full price for this bag and I think her shop is one you deserve to know about! I just really loved this bag and felt compelled to share my latest prized possession.
A bag caught my eye at the gift shop during our stay at Ocean House in Watch Hill, Rhode Island which by the way was such an amazing family stay! Highly recommend going there this summer for a little East Coast getaway. Anyways, it was a bucket bag with a braided top handle but what immediately drew me in was the scarf material and print. And when I looked closer it had a tag that said “Hermès silk scarf”.
I was intrigued immediately but held off in purchasing because I like to really think about my purchases, especially bigger ones where I might have instant gratification followed by buyer remorse later. But sure enough before we left back to NYC I purchased it because I could not stop thinking about that unique bag and print! It’s a bucket bag made entirely from an authentic Hermès silk scarf — the classic equestrian print in amber, gold and burgundy — with a braided rope handle, brass hardware. Truly one of a kind and one I had never seen at an Hermes store myself.
And that’s exactly the point.
Before I go any further, I am going to link this outfit from my Instagram reel because I know I will be getting questions on it! Linked here.
Now — to be fair to Hermès — they do make scarf bags. There’s a few different kinds on the internet right now but bodiless totes and slinky pouches. They are cute and perfectly lovely.

But it they are not this. What lcrestore.shop is a cute bucket bag with structure, that holds its own shape and fits more than just a lippy and petite wallet. And one I imagine owning forever. The silk is from an actual Hermès scarf. Not a knockoff. Not an inspired-by. An actual Hermès scarf, repurposed into something the house itself hasn’t thought to make.
She also works repurposes Dior, Pucci, and other iconic designer materials to create pieces these houses aren’t selling themselves. Bucket hats, pouches, denim jackets, totes — all made from authentic designer fabric, just reimagined in products that don’t exist anywhere else. Her imagination and creativity is genuinely genius. Every piece is real, every piece is different, and every piece is a missed opportunity on the part of the designers whose materials she’s working with.

You can shop her designs online — and if you want my exact bag in a different print, that’s available, too here. You can also find her one of a kind pieces at some of the best hotels in the world:
Ocean House, Watch Hill
Four Seasons, Anguilla
Auberge, Mauna Lani
Four Seasons, Lanai
Faraway, Martha’s Vineyard
Gozzer Ranch, Idaho
Madison Club, California
Makena Golf & Beach Club, Hawaii
White Elephant, Nantucket
And if you don’t see what you’re looking for, I would DM her directly! She also does custom orders it looks like!
People would buy this. I bought this. My DMs went insane when I posted about it. So Hermès — the opportunity is right there. In the meantime, she is doing the work. In my humble opinion, I feel like this is a huge missed opportunity? And more people should know about her!
xx

Wow, I love. I just acquired a vintage petit h cord necklace from a scarf and it's perfect. Also feels like a missed opp but makes them more unique so it's a double-edged sword
